First Day... Checking in at Disney's Pop Century and spending the day at Epcot
The trip began easily enough...
We left from Bogalusa, LA and drove the relatively short (for us) trip to WDW. One day of driving isn't so bad. I wish it were always that way.
We spent the night outside of the Magic so that we could be fresh the first day. But there were signs of good things to come...
We woke up and drove the short distance from our cheaper motel to Disney's Pop Century Resort.
After getting checked in, we headed straight to Epcot (formerly EPCOT Center) to ease our way into the WDW experience. Epcot is probably Lisa's favorite and, though it's big, its subject matter and types of attractions make for relatively easy touring.
Of course, Lisa, being a good daughter, calls her Mom from the Epcot parking lot to let her know how much fun she's already having.
And ahead is Spaceship Earth, the carrot that draws us into the mysteries of Epcot...

Here Lisa is Living with the Land. At one time she would have been Listening to the Land, but times change.
Those clever Disney folks have found all sorts of interesting ways to grow plants. Lisa and I are much better at killing them. So we keep our hands to ourselves...
Unlike this clown:
Tomato trees... Now there's an idea!
This is how they grow the cast member's heads into the shape of Mickey...
